Summertown Wolvercote Wytham
Church Partnership

In search of the unity for which Christ prayed

We are honoured to welcome Professor Kate O'Regan, inaugural Director of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, as the first lecturer in the Summertown Wolvercote and Wytham Church Partnership (SWWCP) Spring Lecture Series on Thursday 16 February, St Peter's Church at 18:30. Her talk is intriguingly titled, 'Does the Human Rights Act need fixing?'
Kate O’Regan was born in the UK but moved to South Africa with her family at the age of seven. She is a former Judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa. A founder member of the Law, Race and Gender Research project and the Institute for Development Law at the University of Cape Town, Kate advised the African National Congress (of which she was a non-active member from 1991) on land claims legislation, and served as a trustee of the Legal Resources Centre Trust. She co-edited No Place to Rest: Forced Removals and the Law in South Africa and contributed to A Charter for Social Justice: A Contribution to the South African Bill of Rights Debate.
